Summer break is finally here. That means more than just a vacation; it’s a chance to start planning for your future. But what if you’re just starting your college search? Then summer is your perfect time to test out college life with a campus tour. Read on below for our tips to getting the most out of your experience.
- Plan Ahead – Tours are a great way to get a sense of the “big picture” on campus. Westfield State tours include access to an academic building, the Ely Campus Center & Library, a residence hall and the Dining Commons. However, if you want to take a closer look at what your life as a Westfield State student could be like, make an appointment to speak with someone in the department you are interested in. This is a great time to find out more about the program and get a head start in forming a connection with faculty and staff.
- Start Early – What if you haven’t even started looking at colleges yet? Or maybe you’re a high school junior and want to get a jump on any future decisions? Attend one of our Information Sessions. Information Sessions are offered with most tours and are a great way to learn about the history of Westfield State, the courses offered, and how to get the application process started.
Completing your application is the easy part, figuring out what path to take can be the hard part. Watch how students just like you found their place at Westfield State.
- Go As A Group – You don’t have to take a tour on your own. Westfield State offers group tours for schools, organizations or clubs. Even better, plan to tour with a friend. Having someone you’re close with will make you feel comfortable enough to ask your guide questions, plus they might even bring up helpful points or opinions for you to consider.
- Save The Date – Westfield State's summer campus tours run daily. All you have to do is go online to reserve your spot. Visit the Campus Tours page to let us know how many people will be attending the tour, and we’ll find the date and the time that works best for you.
Campus tours are meant to be as much fun for you as they are informational. Remember to keep an open mind, ask plenty of questions and take a close look around because Westfield State could be your home for the next four years!
